Comments: I served aboard the Brush from about December 1951 until September, 1954. I was not aboard when Brush struck a mine. I was told it struck the port side in C division sleeping quarters where I bunked. I was aboard in Wonsan harbor when No. 1 mount was struck. Served as radioman on shore party (Bok-to or Chok-to) to bombard enemy positions. Rate was RM2.

Comments: Ray was my father-in-law, although I never met him. He passed in 1993. We don't have his records yet, but we believe he was injured either in the 1950 mine strike or the 1953 shore battery hit. His 1951 wedding photo shows a "crow", crossed keys, and three ranking stripes. We would love to connect up with someone who remembers him.

Comments: I boarded the USS Brush DD 745 on 8 Sept 1950 as a transit going to the USS Helena CA 75. Was aboard during sinking of Korean junks behind island Mayang-do Island near Sinpo. Took photos which I gave to Brush Association several years ago.I was on the Helena on 10 Sept, and we were nearby when Brush hit the mine, took on some of the wounded for treatment.
