Comments: This is Leonard's daughter. I am sorry to say that my
dad recently passed. In looking through his papers I
found he served on this ship during the Korean War. I
also came across a citation served to him while
attached to this ship for acting as Coxswain of a small
whaleboat engaged in landing personnel ashore behind
enemy front lines on the east coast of Korea. It is
signed by CT Joy, Vice Admiral, US Navy, commander
Naval Forces, Far East.

Comments: Hi!
My name is Amanda, and I am a Junior at Abilene Christian University. I am in a class right now which allows me to do a documentary about WWII. My grandfather served aboard the USS Zellars, but he died when I was very young. Do you happen to know anyone who might have any pictures that they could send, any stories to tell, or live in Texas and would be willing to be interviewed? If possible, I need people who served about the ship in WWII. I have come across most of the information avaliable on the web, but now I need things like logs, journals, or even the name of the captain! Thank you so much. Please email me at alm99a@acu.edu. My being able to do this documentary depends on the information I can find.
My grandfather's name was Frank Joseph Krajca. I don't know what his function was aboard the ship. If anyone knew him I know my mom would love to hear about him! Thank you again!
