Comments: My name is Heather, and my grandfather, Ken Roenicke was aboard the Wallace L Lind during the Korean War. He passed quite a few years ago, and I was too young to know how much his memories would have meant to me even now. (I think my parents thought I was too young to hear such language.) I am married to a former Navy man now, and I think they would have gotten along great. I miss him dearly. If anyone knew him, has a story or even a photo to share, I would appreciate it so much. Thank you.

At this time the commander was EB Carlson. Members of the

Ralph E Keesling, Kenneth B Armstrong, James A Wisor, Donald B

Comments: Everyone talks about the History of the Jolly Wolly no one ever mentions the many times the ship during the 50's was in harms way and answered the call. I wondering anyone out there remembers during the suez crisis how we had went to geral quarters because the French and the British Navies refused ius entry to Aid in the evacuation of American citizens who were caught up in the Bombardment. Many times we were called to serve our Country in Harms way, yet because we were not technically at war we aren't aloud to join the American Legion. Who Remembers?

Comments: Hi! I served on the Wallace L. Lind From 1965 through 1968. On my last year we served in the Viet Nam War. There is nothing mentioned of this in the ship's history. This is the first time that I log on to Navy's Web and got curious about my ship. If anybody has any pictures of my ship and any information of those years about my ship please Email them to me, maybe a roster too because it's been over thirty years and I would like to spark some memories.
