Comments: Hi,
I am trying to track down a Commisaryman Chief Potts who was on board a Destroyer leader July 1959 in Long Beach California. After cross checking all 5 Destroyer Leaders built at this time. This one was the only one that was West Cost, the Joshn S McCain was also Pacific but based in Hawaii after coming from the East Coast.
I am looking for any information on the Chief. My friend is a civilian and is just trying to get in contact with him or the family.

Comments: My late uncle, Arthur P. Ward, served on the Wilkinson and died while on duty on February 27, 1955. As my grandmother has died and my mother cannot relate details, I would be grateful for any information from his fellow crew members about my uncle and about the circumstances of his death. I must assume that this was a highly uncommon occurrence in peacetime. Thank you!

My mother and step father are gone. I only wish to be able to know more about him and my brother that I have never met. I leave in california, but I was born on April 9, 1951, in Newport, Rhode Island. Some say his name was George Wilkerson or George Wilkinson, but I am not sure of that. He may have just been nickenamed that. my phone is 909-910-7924. My real name is Henry Seaman. My mother was Matilda Smith. She was called Tillie.

Comments: Was the USS Wilkinson attached to DESDIV 191 or 192 in the early 1960s. Did the USS Trathen DD-530, USS Black DD-666 and the USS Wilkson DL-5 make up one of the DESDIVs? Can anyone tell me what involvement this group had in the Vietnam conflict. I served aboard the USS Trathen until 1963. In 1962 we spent three months off of the coast of Vietnam supporting what we were told to be the Laos crisis. I am trying the piece together the last years of service of the USS Trathen.
Thanx for any available information.
