A more recent friend of mine has connections to the Taussig family and I've been trying to figure out for them if the jacket I had was official or not, and where it might be possible to locate another like it. that I know nothing about.
One in particular says U.S.S. Taussig DD-746 at
the top and Raymond 'Pop-a-Top' Russell at the
bottom. In the middle is a bottle of Smirnoff
vodka and a bottle of orange juice and it says "A
Breakfast without orange juice is like a day
without sunshine" and underneath that is a set of
bloodshot looking eyes.
If you would like to see a scan of the patch go to
http://www.hollywoodlostandfound.net/taussig.jpg.
I have absolutely no use for this patch and
thought it would be fun to try to reunite it with
its original owner, or at least someone who would
appreciate it more than I do. .the patch is your's
