Comments: Hi I just found out that Veterans and Active Service members are entitled to burial benefits at no or minimal cost to the family. They would be buried in a national or possibly a state cemetery and the State or Federal Government would take care of the graves. I live in Wisconsin and found out that my State has 3 state cemeteries and the National one in Milwaukee is full.
If interested you should contact your VA rep and put in a application. Thank You for your service.

Started tour at Camp Rose and shipped home in 64 from CC-1. I know that all of these men recall the red alert when President Kennedy was shot in November 1963. It was an honor to serve with these men and many more. Notes we had a dog named tanker at Camp Rose, and 1st sergeant Wilson gave Tanker full command over the company yard.

I am lucky on two counts concerning my time on the DMZ. Even though I was exposed to agent orange I so far have none of the ailments. The second count is that I was awarded the Imjin Scout Insignia for service along the DMZ from March 1970 to July 1970 . I had actually been up there since Nov 1969 and for short stays prior to that. I can be contacted at the above e-mail address which I check daily.

It told about its location and a few facts about it and most important, the veterans that served there in the 1960s and 1970s received $150.00 a month hazardous duty pay for serving in a filth and diseased country. I served in 61 and 62 and received $25.00. The military pulled this article, I wished I would have printed it.
We came back from a 5 day alert and our whole hut had bugs that looked like crabs, they burned all our bedding and put this orange powder on our blankets for the rest of my tour. Came off guard duty at 2:am and wanted to take a hot shower and they were spraying something and my whole body got covered with these bugs, don't know what they were spraying. Was young and dumb. Now have vertigo, tinnitus, bad hearing from a bad weapon etc., also lungs are shot. Best to Keddy ,Plouride , Rossini and Chung Jun Woo. Thanks

Comments: I want to make a correction on my last email posting I noticed that I left out a
date to be eligible for the National Defense Service Medal you must have served on
active duty from January 1st 1961 to AUGUST 14th 1974 that is during the Vietnam
war era. Good Luck John

Comments: Hi just want to say happy veterans day to all and let some know that you might be
eligible for a couple of medals. According to Wekipeda and other web sites if you
served on active duty from October 24th 1962 to June 1st 193 you might eligible
for the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and if you served on active duty from
January 1st to August 14 1974 you might be eligible for the National Defense Medal
. Good luck and thank you for your service.

Comments: It would be great to connect with comrades via email. I was stationed at Seoul Korea
with B Company, Radio Teletype. I arrived in Korea about September 1961.
