Comments: Looking for any Army Corpsman from Korea. I am working with a Korean Vet (Corpsman) who was periodically sent to Aid Stations near the DMZ. Vet has developed Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia, which the VA has just recently recognized as being Agent Orange related. We need to place the vet in the vicinity of the DMZ to get the VA to grant service Connection. Statements from other Armey Corpsman who were similarly assigned on a rotating basis to Aid Stations in the vicinity of the DMZ would be of immense help.

Comments: Please men, out there is an Organization fighting for us to receive some recognition for the time we spent in the land of the sliding doors. I never thought anyone but me every worried about things like this, the more I get involved, I realize we, being human want to be recognized for the work we done in Korea. I have never figured out till this day, why the War in Korea was named the forgotten war. Every thing in my life time was about another war or conflict, nothing about the fine job we done defending out freedon on the DMZ in Korea. Everyone in the Military deserves to be recognized for the work or job he has done or received. I wonder many times about the fine job that was done by the Military in Korea, and it still going on. all the tings we had to do, and many of us were in units that never received any thing, I have no reason why, we the 4th Missile Command had the biggest Bullet, even had nuclear capabilities for our Missile, and we had the Infantry, Engineers, Hqs Co., MP,s Signal, Aircraft, but you know through the years, we were not even known about. I finally read stories about Camp Page, Korea and how it came to receive its name, and various other camps through Korea. You know I have finally have come to the conclusion that a 17 year boy, out of High School, did not know anything anyway. My Daddy taught me finish High school, join the Army, and be proud to do so. That's exactly what I done, and I am sure there are thousands of Veterans did the same thing. I did just exactly what I was supposed to do, and now I am looking for a Medal after 40 odd years. If I would have had a Computer, I would have been raising the Dickins a long time ago. Any way I have got sidetracked a little, I GUESS THAT WE STILL HAVE A CHANCE BEFORE MORE OF US DIES, TO GET SOME RECOGNITION.
JOIN THE KOREAN DEFENSE VETERANS ALLIANCE AND LETS FIGHT ONE MORE TIME. ANYWAY I CAN HELP YOU GET STARTED GIVE ME RING AT (304)474-3640. WE ALL NEED TO GET GOING, THERE HAS BEEN MEN WORKING LONG AND HARD FOR ALL OF US, YES AND I BELIEVE WE ALL CARE ABOUT THIS. Thanks for lending me your eyes. Try to make it to Church Sunday, and lets all pray for out Soldiers on land, air, or water.

Comments: Donald C. Schneider aged 33 died of Lung Cancer 12 years after Korea 68-69. I am in search of help from anyone who might have been stationed in Korea
from 68-69. My late husband was with the Bravo 44th Engineer Batt. Camp Carroll. I know he worked on the DMZ with heavey equipment.
My army son came back from Camp Humphrey last year
and brought me an article about the US dumping 59,000 gallons of Agent Orange along the DMZ
during 68-69. Because of that and my husband's
untimely death, and the fact that my boys have
had extreme symptoms of skin rashes, pre-cancerous tumors, asthma, allergies, and I having miscarriages and a still birth,I went a head and
filed a claim with the VA rep.
in my area which is Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for my husbands death. I do have his year
book and his patches from this unit also.
The VA rep. told me unless I find someone who can
verify that he was at the DMZ that my cliam is
dead in the water.
So I am wondering if there is any information or
help on this matter from your readers out there.
Please write to me, I will answer all. Thank you
a head of time for your response.

Comments: Hello out there, I would have thought by now that having already put one entry into the system about the 226th, I would have made some contact.

I musta not been too popular with the men. or maybe their all dead, or maybe they have better things to do than set around trying to communiciate with other folks that they have not seen in 45 years.

Well one thing for sure the time I spent in Korea with some of the best men I ever knew is worth the wait. If any of you are out there give me a shot.

I Was with the 226th Signal at Chunchon during 62 and 63. I worked with a fellow I believe his name was thourton, one of the best Radio Repairman I ever knew.

Our CO. was Capt. Wilcox and our Top Sgt. was Gibson. Our post commander was Colonel Metcalf. He gave me a day pass for making Colonels Orderly for being the sharpest Soldier on Guard duty.

We lived in those trucks backwards and forwards to the DMZ, doing the best we could establishing Communiciations for our Camp Page, Seoul, and the United Nations Command.

Left Korea after 14 Months even without a National Defense Medal, which I never was awarded. I applied about 3 months ago, another thing I feel that is not so great about things,

I drove the whole time I was in the Army and even drove a General a couple of times, and was not even awarded the Drivers Badge. I got back to the states and went to Ft. Hood, where I worked on Radios, Teletypes, Roadgraders, Tanks M-48's and VTR's M-88's I was with the 1st A.D. 123 Maint Battalion, all that driving even went and live on the Desert with the Army, between Needles and Cadiz, worked on everything out there, even drove a 5 ton Tractor out there at 40 miles an hour., still no drivers badge. O.K enough of that, sorry for bending your ears, or would it be your eyes, but you Veterans are the only ones that understand this type of thing, that little piece of tin, really meant something to me, if they would put it on my DD-214, I'd buy it myself. Please Comrades lets all pray for the Brave men in Afghan. Merry Christmas to you folks, and don't forget a little Cake for Jesus.

Comments: Does anyone remember Camp Walker and Camp Henry in 1968-69. I was stationed there then and I am looking for a Korean friend who worked as a civ for 8th Army in the IMC bld, Camp Henry. His name is Mr Yi, Tok Yon. I would like to make contact with him.
Also, does anyone remember a grenade being thrown into the mess hall at Camp Carroll about early 68 by UK's and killing two GI's?
Any of the above imformation would sure be appreciated.Thank You.

Comments: I was the only TT Repairman at Camp Page, and we mostly stayed in the field near or at the DMZ. I done everything but fix TT's. I was there in 62 and 63 for 14 months. We supported the 4th missle command in every way including signals.
Its good to see the name every once in a while. Any you men, want to chew the fat about the old days on the DMZ, I have my share of stories also.
I am now 57, and boy, did I get old fast. Have your PSA checked, I just had my Prostate removed.
Remember the Honest John, now a relic. May God Bless us all. I will never forget. Sam Snyder
