Comments: I served in Korea late 1962 - 1963 at HQ S3 taking reports from the DMZ for compilation to the Colonel in the morning.
I worked 8 hours on and 24 hours off until I left Korea for my old outfit at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky home of the 101st Airborne Div.
The notable memories that I have of my tour in Korea was how cold it had gotten in the winter, and the ambush at 1 yankee and 2 Zulu that killed 2 of our guys and wounded one other. We had flushed hills during the day (before I was assigned to HQ from Company A )and had stakeout at night, until the North Korean agents were captured and/or killed way south of our positions towards Seoul. The whole tour was a FOG to me. But, I do remember Robert F. Kennedy visiting our location to be briefed by 9th Cav next door to us. ( Lucky bastards)
I was the one who told the North Koreans about the assasination of John F. Kennedy, when I called it to the guys out in the Zone.
We all knew they were listening in on our calls, and we thought it would be kind of interesting to speculate just what the North Koreans would tell their guys that would differ from our report.
We were stationed across the Imjim River, and I can remember the fragrance of the fertilizer used in the spring for their rice paddies as we neared Chang Pari at the end of the bridge. (Hooooo-weeeee!)
Munsan-Ni was a nice little town compared to Chang Pari, But it was Chang Pari that gave me fond memories.
Oh,well..here it is 2010, and from some of the pictures I saw of Chang Pari, it has certainly changed. Using Google earth, I could just barely recognize the town, had it not been for the bridge.
Well, thats all for now, I wish I could remember all the people I worked with that year, and I want to say I am sorry for anything that may have made them angry with me. I was young, so I did make my share of errors.

I now have heart problems, prostrate problems, an enlarged thyroid and muscle pain. The VA says that some of these can be from agent orange. I've filled out the paper work and waiting for results. You can get your drugs from VA for $8 each.

I just retired 10/09 and worked for Zurich Insurance in NYC. I was in 1 World Trade Center when the first plane hit on 9/11. I saw more that day than my tour in Viet Nam in 1968. My main squeeze was Kim Bon Ok (Angel) who worked in the Rendezvous club. She was so beautiful and I think of her until this day. After my Korea tour, I was stationed at Fort Stewart, GA. It was beautiful there but too boring for a 19 year old, that is why I volunteered for Viet Nam. Met Mullins (finance dept) in Viet Nam 90th Replacement Center but once he was assigned somewhere, I never saw him again. We were at midnight breakfast when TET started and they blew up our ammo dump. Would love to hear from my old friends or others who were stationed there at the same time.

Please describe your issues and what the VA has done for you. Have you witnessed the spraying of any toxic material or used it yourself that would be important information.
