Comments: From a list of 844 men from the Chosin battle
area. Eldon C. Justus is
among them lost between 28 Nov-6 Dec."50.
Here is what I have
on him.
SFC, Serial # 19213010, 57th FA. BN.

Although the majority of these men were killed
or captured on Dec. 1st
or 2nd, due to the great loss of men, reports
on their status were not
written until Dec. 6th, and that is a date
referred to
frequently on MIA's and KIA's.

For anyone who is interested who knows what
happened to the soldiers
of "Task Force Faith", on Chosin's East side,
or of these missing please send me a
message - paulhyman@humboldt1.com Our
whole family will thank you.

HE WAS DECLARED MISSING IN ACTION AND AFTER SO MANY YEARS HE WAS DECLARED DEAD. SINCE THEN MY GRANDPARENTS BOTH HAVE DIED. I JUST CAN NOT LET GO OF THE THOUGHT WE HAVE NEVER KNOWN WHAT HAPPENED TO UNCLE ANTHONY. PLEASE IF SOMEONE KNOWS ANYTHING OR CAN HELP US FIND OUT I WOULD BE FOREVER THANKFUL.

Remembered by Sgt Green as med build with brown hair, and very cool under pressure. Would like to reconnect with Brown if possible. Thanks to all who served.

Comments: Hal and Ted,
I guess I'm long overdue getting into your guestbook, but you had my picture on your web page 6 months before I even saw it. I guess I'm slow at everything. I can't thank you enough for the fine job you are doing for the Korean War veterans and their families. From the pictures of me that you put on your web page, I've received several letters from family members asking me if I could shed some light on the death or disappearance of a loved one at the Chosin Reservoir. I have responded to all the letters telling them of the circumstances at the time, which may be of some help to them. The passage of time does not seem to ease the pain of the loss, and I can tell you that from first-hand experience. Your web site however, does I'm sure, bring a lot of people closer to closure. Please keep up your fine work.

You have done an extraordinary job of assembling history and interesting vignettes-- some riveting. I was present at an earlier time (Aug 50 - Aug 51) than most of your activities chronicle (unless I
haven't found the spot). I am a Chosin Reservoir veteran and a dormant member of the "Chosen Few". I am amazed you have been on the net for all this time and I never heard of the site. I wish you success in your effort to survive. Try Robert Stack (actor) or Mack Truck Corporation for corporate sponsorship.

Comments: My dad, PFC Russell Roberts, was critically wounded on the Chosin Reservoir Dec 1-2, 1950. He was shot twice and bayoneted 18 times and left for dad. He managed to crawl to a truck where he hung on to the chassis to get away from what he called a "body of water filled with Chinese."

My father died in 1993 but I am very interested in learning about his time in Korea. According to documents in my mom's possession, he was one of 197 men with the A Battery, 57 Field Artillery, 7th Infantry.

Can anyone help?
