Comments: My father Raymond Augie Augustyniak served in Korea 51-54. He was in the 999th Field Artillery Battalion --- fought within the Iron Triangle .. Places including: Pork Chop Hill, Old Baldy, Old Nordy, White Horse to name a few.
He enlisted in Chicago. After Korean War he joined the Marines. My dad earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star in Korea.
I would LOVE NOTHING MORE than to speak with someone who knew my dad, worked with him, and fought side by side with him. Red Falcone and I emailed a bit back and forth and he told me how my dad saved Red's brother who was left for dead.
I'm also hoping to be able to come to the reunion the last weekend of Sept in Arkansas. I do also have a few Picts of dad in Korea.....
I would humbly be fretful for anyone who responds. My dad passed away Sept 21, 2007. I miss him EVERY MOMENT OF EVERYDAY!!!!
God Bless ALL VETERANS WHO GAVE SO MUCH FOR OUR FREEDOM!!!
