I found some records that he served in the 90th FA Battery A. or possibly C He did not talk about his War experiences (He also served in the Marine Corps after the Korean War and retired). He did talk about his Buddies he served with. I just wanted to know if anyone knew him, and if any of his Buddies are still around.

Comments: Just recently saw a message pertaining to a topo map of Bloody Gulch. A map of that general
area may be seen in the KWP map Library and downloaded if so desired. The map series is AMS
L751. Scroll down the list until you come across Chindong-ni. Click that and the map which
appears (6819-II) has the area you are looking for. Chindong-ni is on the right side of the
map towards the bottom and the bridge at the entrance of the Chinju pass is on the extreme
left side. Just follow the road from Chindong-ni to the Pass.
The map doesn't print very well, at least on my printer, but it is legible.
I have always read that only one Battery of the 90th was involved and that was A Batt. How
did Hq. get in there?
As I recall, colored maps are available from the National Archives in Washington, DC at a
cost, which is reasonable.

I know from speaking with my Mother, that the war affected him very badly. He worked as a surveyor his whole life after the war. He was Cpl.E4(I dont know what this stands for) Arvis F. Roy,KIA Republic of Korea
8-12-1950. He was in the 90th Artillery BN, 25th Inf.Division.
He spent 17 months on the missing list, then when pronounced dead the dates of death agreed with the date of missing.
He had been in the Army 4 years, after basic training he spent 13 months in the Army of Occupation in Korea, he then spent a year in Japan, where he worked in an office as a battery clerk for his outfit, he also drove the jeep for his Captain, transportation clerk, and assitant supply sergeant.
He had orders to return to the States on June 8, 1950, but were recinded with the outbreak of the Korean struggle. That was when he was returned to action with the 90thART. Bn, 25th Inf. Division.
His family was notified Christmas Eve, 1951.
I would love to hear from anyone that remembers him or anyone that may have been in the same BN. that may remember what struggle or what Capatin he may have served under. Thank you, A VERY Proud Neice that didnt get a chance to know her Uncle.
