Comments: This is a correction to my previous post. I now have
the book in my possession. The inside page says: 82nd
Field Artillery Battalion, Organization Day, June 6th
1950, Camp Whittington, Kagohara Japan. It also has the
1st Cav shield and 82nd FA BN shield. In it's pages are
listed all officers, nco's, and enlisted men of all
batteries that served during that time. It is missing a
few pictures, if anyone has this book or knows where I
can get replacements or copies of those photos, I would
be very grateful. Thank You. Can and Will.

Comments: My grandfather, Bernard R King, served in the 1st Cav
Div, 82nd FA BN, B Battery in Japan and A Battery in
Korea. He was enlisted from 1949 to 1952. I'm sad to
say he recently passed away. As a keepsake he left me a
small, rope-bound book that was given to members of his
unit in Japan dated June 6 1949. This book has photos
of the units stapled in it, some feature a camp at the
foot of Mt.Fuji. The photos with my grandfather in them
are missing. I would greatly appreciate any info on how
I can replace this book or get copies of the photos in
it. Also if you knew my grandfather I would love to
hear from you. This would mean so much to me and my family.

Thank You

Comments: Looking for any folks who served with my dad, Chalmer Holliday, in Korea. He was stationed at Camp Whittington, Kagohara (sp?), Japan at the outbreak of the Korean conflict. Saw time (don't know exactly how much) with his unit in Korea. Dad is now a retired masonry contractor, enjoying making woodcrafts. I'll pass on info to him from anyone who will respond. He'll be very glad to hear from you.

He was a private going in, and came out a Sgt.I'm not sure he was in this Battalion, but I believe he was in Infantry, and he was in 82nd for sure! Please let me know if you served with him.E-mail address enclosed.L.Kotakis
