Comments: My Grandpa, Oldrich "Andy" Hanvald passed Oct 2011. I didn't know really anything about his service - but after doing a good bit of research - i found out that he was in Korea and had been injured 11/20/1950. I found some old picture from Grandpa while in Basic at Ft Jackson and Ft Benning.

Comments: I am interested in any information from anyone who knew or may have served with my father, Master Sargeant Robert ( Bob) A. Totty. He arrived in Korea in July 1950 and was KIA on 1/1/1951. He was a forward observer and a Master Sergeant at the time, with the 13th Field Artillery, 24th Regiment, A Company, Headquarters Battery. The book Q Clan, by Ralph Derr Harrity, was recommended to me and I was able to find my father's name in it in several places. I have medals, official pictures and some letters to my grandmother, but would be interested in informal photos, anyone who knew his personality, character, stories, etc. My father was from Tenn. He married my mother in London, England, in 1946, while serving in WWII. She never told me much about him and has recently passed away.

Comments: The 3-13th Red Dragon Battalion will be hosting a regimental week to celebrate the 13th Field Artillerys history from 5-8 October, 2015 on Fort Sill, OK. The battalion is creating a regimental room to house historical memorabilia and artifacts of not just from 3-13, but all previous 13th Field Artillery units since its creation in 1916. Foremost, we would like you to join us in this celebratory week. If you are unable to attend, but would still like to contribute we will graciously accept whatever you give or send to us. Stories, memorabilia to donate (temporary or permanent), and above all we would love your personal or unit pictures to display in the regimental room. Please check out our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/#!/313FAR or you can email us about it at 313FARREDDRAGONS@gmail.com. If you see this after the regimental week, we still want to hear from you!

Comments: My grandfather, Lt. Robert Louis Tex Fullen was killed near the Kum River in Korea on July 16, 1950. He was a artillery forward observer. His original status was MIA, though his body was located in November 1951 and returned home in January 1952. My mother and I recently found some letters written to my grandmother in the months & years following his death, which shed some light on his death. My mother & I are interested in any information that can be provided about my grandfather, especially from anyone who served alongside him.

13th Field Artillery, and was Staff Sargeant of the

Comments: Talked to MSGT James W. Bolt today and he let me know that I had posted my message in the wrong place. I had left it in the 24th div. I want to thank all the people who have helped me so far in spite of the fact that I and they did not know that I had misplaced the message!

My father-in-law David E Hall (may have gone by DE) passed away unexpectedly on 7-17-2006. We miss him and want to pay him honor by returning the photos that he took of some of his friends before the conflict began.
He did put names on some of them. I have the original photos to give you or your family members.

I will send you the digitized ones first (via e-mail)and then if we have the correct person I will send them to you via the post office. Here are some of the names that I have Alverez,Guy Banner, Pina, Lee Morton, Hughes, Dawson, Davis, Sutton, Sgt. White, Malone, Jerry Mang, Jessie Miers, Miller, Mikell and wife, Osolia, Pedro,Williams and more. I also have a company photo of B company. It is all the men in the mess hall. If you or anyone you know recognizes any names on the list please e-mail me.

Just to let you know Joe Wszlok has his photos. He is the only one so far. My hope is return all the photos and especially return photos to the ones that lost loved ones. I want them to see how happy they were before the war. I can send anyone a list of names and if interested the B Battery digitized photo or other photos to verify a name or a friend. Please no researchers only family members or close friends.

Both my parents were also in the Korean War in the Air Force. My husband was in the Navy during the mid 70s. We know and appreciate what all you have done for us. God bless and thank you for your service to our country.

Comments: I am looking for more information about my Dad and where he served , war buddies etc while in Korea. He was a member of the "First To Fight "24th Infantry and recieved a plaque with the Tara Leaf on it .He was shot and seriously wounded on July 16th 1950 ,he was only 18 years old. I have 4 of the 5 medals that he was given and also a Presidential Unit Citation. His Purple Heart is missing.
He never talked about his service but he suffered from "SHELL SHOCK" is what my Mother called it.His knees and legs were full of shrapnel from the missle he was hit by and caused him constant pain and difficulty in walking. On December 21st 1987 the shrapnel caused a blood clot in his leg and he died from an allergic reaction to the dye test he was given in the Vet Hospital. He was only 55 years old.We miss him alot.
When he told the story of his Korean casualty He said he was left for dead but some soldier "tripped "over him and when they realized he was alive pulled him to saftey. He counted every day beyond that day as a blessing.
I would like to know who that soldier was because I want to thank him too, because without him I wouldnt be here today. He is a HERO in our family.
I have a picture of my Dad in his uniform if that would help in identifying him.So if anyone has any info please Email me.

Comments: I am Rod's daughter. My father passed away last year. He was only 17 when he enlisted. He never spoke much about this part of his life. I would like to hear from anyone who might have known my dad. He was trained at Camp Polk La with the 37th infantry division. He spent 19 months in combat before going to Japan for security duty and returned toKorea shortly before the cease fire. He was a truck driver. He and my mother married in Colorado Springs in 1953 and lived there until he was discharged.

Comments: I wanted to pass on to members of the 13th FA BN that my Uncle- (then) LT Ted Cretin, formerly of HHB/13 FA during the Korean War passed away on 8 MAR 2003. He was proud of his service with the "Q-Clan" as he called it. He is gone, but not forgotten.

To Korean War vets- thanks for all of your dedicated service to the nation.

Very Respectfully

LTC Ted Martin
