My Dad would like to locate his gunner while in Korea. He has mentioned him many times. His name was Eugene Lewis, He was from Calhoun Falls SC.His Dad was a Minister. Prior to the war he was a porter on the railroad and possibly returned to this after the war. Mr.Lewis would have been considered a minority at that time as He was black. The only information I have is as follows:
The friend's last name is: Chalmers, but everyone called him "Smiley". He called Baltimore, Maryland home.

In 1951 he was in the 24th Division. In 1952 "Smiley" was in the 52nd Field Artillery and moved to Japan.

My father was in the (51-52) Field Artillery Bat. 24th Division 52nd FAB.

Again, any help in trying to locate Mr. Chalmers is appreciated. My father will be attending the Korean War Memorial this summer. I'd like to be able to give him some news of the friend he lost contact with.
