Comments: Seeking any info on Jimmy Cherry (Hacker),my uncle's records.
The following is from stories I heard. He enlisted at age 20, in Texas. His grandmother, Annie Cherry signed for him to enlist because his mother refused to.
He was injured by an exploding stove while in Korea. A telegram was sent to his mother that he was missing in action, but was later found in a hospital.
Any information is appreciated.

Comments: I am looking for any information, stories or people who
may have served with my grandfather, SFC John J Feifel.
We do not know much about his service other than the
units he was in. We do know he was at Camp Perry, OH in
1949 as part of the "Batty B, 73rd AAA unit.
If anyone has any information or stories to share
please email me. We are trying to piece together his
story as his records were destroyed in the 1973 fire
along with many others.
Thanks so much!

Comments: Comments: I am trying to find any information about my father and his service in Korea. He was in Japan when the war broke out and we have no information about his unit, company etc. because like many other veterans, his personal records were lost in transit and his military records were destroyed in the same storage facility fire as many others. We know he was assigned in a tank unit but not much else. I have some photo's of him and the tanks as well as a tracked snow vehicle, but the pictures of him in uniform do not clearly show his unit emblem/patch. We have an envelope post marked June 16, 1951, about five months before being discharged, with the following address:
Sgt. Acie E. Ray, 15378119,
7.RCN.CO.,
APO 7,
c/o P.M.,
Inter Island,
Any assistance is appreciated.
Thank you,

He reached the Rank of Staff Sargent and awarded the following decorations during his service: Army Good Conduct Medal with three ribbon clasps, National Defense Service Medal, Army Korean Service Medal (for service in Japan during Korean War), United Nations Korea Medal.
I remember meeting a gentleman several years ago who wore a Korea Veterans Ball Cap and began to cry when I thanked him for his service and after comforting him explained that in the fifty years since his Korean Service not one person had ever said thank you to him!
And while this posting is for my father it goes out to all those who served their country during the Korean Conflict! God Bless You All!

Comments: AMERICAN FLAG RETIREMENT
Do you have a old, frazzled flag that's no longer fit for display, that's laying around your office or home and you just don't know what to do with it? Then send it to us! We will properly dispose of it with dignity and according to federal laws.
Who are we? Visit our website at http://www.kitchentablegang.org for details about us and what we are doing to help veterans and our soldiers overseas, plus giving proper respect for ol'glory. See if we are worthy!
The Kitchen Table Gang Trust will retire your tattered, worn out and frayed
American flags with full honors! Anything else is desecration!
Just send your flags to the not-for-profit Kitchen Table Gang Trust, 42922
Avenue 12, Madera, CA 93638-8866 and we'll dispose of your flags in a proper
and dignified manner with full honors and dignity pursuant to the United
States Flag Code Section 8K (PL93-344), TITLE 36, CHAPTER 10, UNITED STATES CODE . The Kitchen Table Gang (formed over 16 years ago) is a "rag-tag" bunch of patriotic military types helping hospitalized veterans and our soldiers and Marines overseas with "Care" packages.
Our flag retirement ceremonies are held on Flag Day, June 14th each year and
are conducted by MGySgt Daniel Kelley USMC and an all volunteer military
honor guard with Eagle Boy Scouts assisting. The Kitchen Table Gang Trust also has a nationally recognized educational program for our young people and
students, teaching them the history, traditions and respect for our national
emblem.
When you send us a flag, please enclose a donation for this service which
allows us to continue and expand our many patriotic programs. We do good
things with your contributions (just ask any veteran or military service
organization). We are involved in and sponsor twenty-three patriotic programs!
We are located at the junction of Highway 41 and Avenue 12 just down from
the world famous Red, White, and Blue barn (with the fifty Golden Stars on the roof) on the way to Yosemite National Park. Pay us a visit at http://www.kitchentablegang.org and see what we are all about.
Please, send us your flags and tell your friends about us!
