Comments: My Uncle, Cleo Haggart, was awarded the Silver Star but never told anyone. My
father, his younger brother, remembers hearing about it on the radio on a Saturday
afternoon when he was about 10 years old, which would have been 1951 or 1952.
My Uncle is still alive and still unwilling to speak of the war, but many family
members would love to know the story of his bravery. I'm not sure its right to seek
information without his knowledge, but his family thinks he deserves recognition
for his valor.
Any information or even a direction to proceed would be appreciated greatly. Thank
you.
