He was Honorably discharge from the 101st airborne "seperation section" at FT Breckinridge. I cant seem to find that unit anywhere. Would appreciate any help finding out about it. Thanks

Comments: Hi.I am looking for any imfo on my father Jack R.Wallace who went in and faught in the Korean war using the name Alvie Barnette Wallace-ALvie was my grandfather and my dad used his name because he was too young to go in.I have heard stories that my dad was either 15 or 16 when he enlisted. My grandfather was unable to get him out because he was also fighting in WW2 at the time. When my grandpa came home, it was too late-my dad was fighting in Korea and there was nothing he could do.I do not know what unit or rank he was in-would love to hear from anyone who knows anything.I recall him talking about a guy named Weir Seimen?...My daddy also got an undesireable discharge-I do not know if that had to do with the fact that someone may have found out his real age or not- Lillie (Wallace)Neal / neal36@msn.com

His name is Robert (Bob) NMI Galbreath Do not know his rank but do know that he recieved several medals in his service in Korea.

know before his unit was sent to Korea they were bivouaced at the Japanese

wounded. He was sent out with a patrol to repair a cut wire and while
repairing the wire, he was lit up by a spotlight and the NK's opened up on

I was just a little boy and saw the big U.S. flag covering his box being unloaded from the plane. Ever since I have had a great respect fro this country, its laws and the men that go to war to preserve it.
Please help me pay a tribute to my Uncle. I do not have any more information about him other than he was also know as "El Borrado", a nickname in spanish to the persons with light color eyes.
Maybe the records of the Veterans that have been sent out of the country to be buried can help me find out more information as to where did he fight and the names of the men that fought with him.
I would like to show my eight year old son the great sacrifice made by my Uncle so he can appreciate more the great country we live in today.

Comments: My father died in February, there is alot of confusion about his military career. We found a manuscript written by our stepmother about some of dad's career..in one place he talked about wiping a village called taegu off the face of the earth, first by an illegal air strike then by having it bulldozed after everything and everyone was killed..There is a mention of a place called Cemetary Hill. Airdropped into Manchuria, mentions being captured along with the 7th marines, a unit that was mainly black. a foot note says that there were about 300 men captured that day at Sinanju, N.K. on the Chonchong River, November 26, 1950. And that he was a POW for 33 months. He had a nickname of "the Cat". I would like to know if this information is verifiable. Thank you, and God Bless

I have tried by contacting National Personel Records Center Military Personel, the response I received was they had experienced a fire in 1973 therefor my fathers records were unatainable. I find this hard to accept as a final answer.
My father passed away in 1977 I was fifteen at the time now I'm getting older with children of my own and a grand-daughter I would like to be able to tell them about their grand-father, not only what a great man he was but maybe some of his life experience's that made him and myself what we are today. I dont know what unit he was with I know he went through basic training in Ft. Knox and was released at Ft. Custer Michigan.
He spoke of Pork Chop Hill, if anyone also experienced that battle I would greatly appriciate a response. He also had two brothers that were in the war at the same time as my father. In case it helps I will provide their names: Orville Clark and Donald Clark. My father was in an infentry unit. If anyone knows where else I can check for information please let me know. He also mentioned 101st airborne.
