Comments: I would desperately like to know if anyone out there served with my Dad, he died in 1987. He never spoke about the war, but I am interested in where he was and what he did. He grew up on LI, New York, in the Sayville area. I know from scattered information he was in some really bad situations. He was about 5'7, dark hair and eyes, and a great story teller, with a big laugh, who liked to drink beer and smoke camels. He is greatly missed and I would like my children to know more about their grandfather whom served his country. Any information would be wonderful for myself and my brothers and sisters.
Thank You,
Lynda Wright Sowinski

Comments: My father passed away last year from cancer. I know nothing about his time in Korea. I didn't even know he had been there until I found his bronze stars cleaning the attic when I was 19. He only spoke of it once. I had found pictures of him and his buddies laughing and trying to stay warm with a fire in a garbage can. When I showed him the picture, he looked at it for a long time. He simply said he died, referring to the other man in the picture. I believe he was a paratrooper, if that is the correct term. I don't want details of his time, even if they are available. I feel that it would be betraying his choice not to talk about it, but I would like to know if anyone who served with him made it out alive. I keep most of the pictures with me to not forget his and the others time there and what happened. Thank you.

Comments: I am looking for any information on my Uncle who died in Korea. All I know about his "unit" is that he had a patch on his left shoulder that said "airborne" with an 11 on it. Anyhting I can find would be much appreciated.
