Comments: KEEP THE CANDLES BURNING
Keep the candles burning until every one returns
Keep the hope uniting for those waiting for their own
Give thanks to those who served and finally made it home
Pray for the ones who were left behind and their loved ones left alone
keep the candles burning until each one arrives once more
Back to this Country USA the home land they fought for
Never let them become forgotten, never let their memory surpass
The reason we keep hoping for peace of mind at last
Keep the candles burning for each one that is missing from each and every war
Pray that the'll keep searching until they return to America once more
That families can lay to rest their loved ones here at home
Say good-bye and know at last, the unknowns finally known.

Comments: My dad, Robert Hofmeister was in the war. HE was 19 years old and married. This war changed his life. I was born two years later. I always heard talk about this war and have many pictures. Dad was there when Marilyn Monroe came to support the men. When dad died he still had trouble talking about the war. He was shot, and spent one month in the hospital. Family members contacted the Red Cross and found dad. My dad, Robert Hofmeister fought for us and I am so proud of him. I honor him and have wonderful pictures.Robert my dad has many medals. Expert rifle, carbine, machine gun. Does anyone remember dad? Dad always had tears in his eyes when he talked of the war and remembered his friends who did not make it. Wish I could share some of this wonderful pictures of other service men.
God Bless

Comments: I was only 2 days old when my brother left for the military, I never got to know him in the sense of him being there, however I knew him because my parents and my older brother and sister kept his memory alive, through their memories I grew to know and love him. My family never received any personal belongings of his, just that telegram so many other families were handed knowing before they ever read it what the dreaded message was, a sherrif's Deputy delivered it to my father, I still recall him telling me that he told the Deputy you couldn't hurt me any worse if you used your pistol on me.
Dad and Mom have both passed away, they often said never knowing what happened to him was the worse thing. I feel like I have to find out where is remains might be and bring him home, he deserves to rest in the Country he fought for, and my parents deserve to rest in peace.

Comments: Sgt McGee was a veteran of Korea. He served as point man but I don't know what company he served with. I would like any information about him to pass on to his two sons. He served in Korea for 11 months. Anyone who knew him or what company he served with, any info would be appreciated. He is not listed in the memorial yet.

Keywords: I was in Korea during the period February 1953 to September 1954.
