Comments: our platoon relieved a company of the 1st cav. who had
got overran by chinese lot of dead and wounded gi`s and
probily 200 to 300 dead chinese. was on the hill 2 days and
they moved my platoon @ about 600pm snow 8". coldddd the
fo heard us and called in artilleryseemed like an hour but
was probibly 5 min. killed 6 guys and wounded 7 guys i was
the only one off the hill. 4 chiggybearers carried me to
aid station and ambulance took me to mash from there onto
tokyo.was in hospital till june 8 1952. cant remember
other guys names.this was november 26 1951. rated 70%
disabled.thank god i`m alive

He played a quitar, he could of had a rosary or some type of pendant he could have wore or carried on him for protection, given to him by a neighbor before leaving. He was born in West Point New York but moved to a small farm in Otisco Indiana in his early teens. He had a dental partial,upper, He had scars on one hand from a bad dog bite as a child.

He went on to serve in the Navy and Coastguard later on, and in the only picture I have of him during the war, he is pictured as a corporal, though I know he made it at least as high as Staff SGT. He was awarded a bronze star , and I know he fought on porkchop hill, but past that I know nothing.

Comments: I am looking for anyone that might have known my Uncle Hobart Decker. All that I currently know is: Hostile, Died While Missing (MIA) Date Of Loss: December 20, 1950. Even though I never met him, I have a portrait of him in his unfiform that hangs in my house. Just my small way of paying tribute to him and saying thanks to all Vets!!

Comments: I'm looking for my MIA great uncle, Richard Reuben Bragg. He served in 3RD INFANTRY DIVISION, 7TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, 2ND BATTALION, H COMPANY and was missing since April 25, 1951 in Korea. Here is a photo and the newspaper clipping that my grandmother has held onto for over 50 years (copy and paste into your browser). Please let me know if you served with him or have photos.

Comments: I'm trying to locate anyone who might have served with my grandfather. He was with HQ troop 7th Infantry Regiment. He always said he was a cable layer, but we are not sure as we recently found out he has a CIB. He never talked to anyone about what happened over there except to one sister and my father. He simply said he was injured in an hostile fight and that was it. His name was Robert L. Canter. He served from 1950-1954 and was a CPL. That is all we know right now. Even if you only knew him and not how he got hurt, we would love to hear from you as we just lost him a few weeks ago and alot of pieces of his service is coming out from the woodworks. Thanks.
