Comments: My father was Allen A. Hebert, from Eunice, LA. He was in the US Army and served in Korea from 11-30-51 to 11-25-1952 w/ I company, 7th inf reg. He made SFC(T) on July 28, 1952 (while in Korea). He died from prostate cancer on January 22, 2002. He never talked about combat other than to say he did fight and the conditions in Korea were terrible, especially during the winter. His DD-214 states he received three medals or awards, which I do not know what they mean. They are a KSM w/1BSS, a DNSM (the D may be something else..it is obscured, possibly a U), and a CI Badge (Combat Infantryman Badge?). I am interested in stories of the battles his company was involved in, and any accounts of his personal combat involvement if someone remembers my father. He also attended the 8 week Leaders School in Fort Knox, KY in 1951 prior to going to Korea. He was the #1 graduate in his class, and received a gold ring with the delta symbol in a garnet stone. I'd like some info on that as well.
Thanks, Ross Hebert

Comments: We are having a wing of the new PAULSBORO, NJ High school and an adjoining building named after Cpl. Carmel Morina, a PAULSBORO youth who died in North Korea while serving with the 7th Inf. Regiment, 3rd Inf. Division, September 3rd, 1951. We have a certificate to place in the Memorial but no particulars, i.e. how, where, when. His serial # was 51019165. His hometown, from which he joined was PAULSBORO, in Gloucester COUNTY. It is erroneously written that he was FROM GLOUCESTER, which is in another entire COUNTY. We would like that corrected, and would like some form of certificate for the Memorial that tells of his awards, actions, and death, if possible. Even the local VA Center Director, Greg Cipolla, at got a Korean War Veterans Honor Roll Certificate that STATEDCpl. Morina was from GLOUCESTER, which he WAS NOT. He lived in PAULSBORO, which is IN GLOUCESTER COUNTY. The city of Gloucester is in CAMDEN COUNTY. How do we correct this error? It can't be left wrong and placed in a glass cabinet that way. It's disrespectful to all of us, and I am sure just a common mistake. Thank you for your anticipated support in this matter. Daniel G. I’m trying to find out about when the 14 infantry was left on the line with the 2nd while the 25th rotated back. My Uncle Donald Turner was killed on November 4, 1951.
A letter sent to my grand parents spoke of Donald manning twin 50’s and they were over run when Donald couldn’t raise the gun high enough to shoot over the bodies of the Chinese. It also told of the Chinese wrapping their bodies with ace bandage material so that even when they were hit, it took 4 or 5 rounds to bring them down.

Comments: I had a very close friend that served as an enlisted man in the during 1953. He was drafted a couple of months after I was drafted in 1951 and we both took basic training at Camp Roberts California. I was talked into applying for OCS so I ended up attending the Infantry Leadership course at Camp Roberts, stayed on as cadre in Basic Training until attending Signal Corps OCS at Fort Monmouth, NJ. My friend Dale Frey went on to serve in L Co. 7th Infantry Regiment Korea and was released from active duty as an SFC in December 1953. Dale passed away in 1999 and I am trying to obtain some information about his unit during his time in Korea. I have been able to answered some questions for his children and grandchildren but I'm trying to obtain more information.
I have tried to find something in the articles in the various Army magazines on Korea about the 7th Inf. Regt but haven't found much. I have also searched the web pages on Korea and units that served in Korea. Could you please direct me to where I could find some articles or some history of the 7th Inf. Regt from the winter of 1952 to the end of 1953? Or do you have any contacts that may have served in L Co. 7th Infantry Regiment?

Comments: i am looking for the men who served with me in
Korea in 1953-1954 that were stationed with me
and who for a joke, painted me red . A man who was

Comments: All I know about my cousin Darwin K Kyle is from the internet. He died 9 years before I was born, and I would think that maybe someone out there remembers him. It seems he was quite a hero, starting in his first term of service in WW II, winning multiple medals and field promotions. I would dearly love to make contact with someone who actually knew this man of courage and honor and hear about the man himself. According to his MOH citation, he served in Company "K", 7th Infantry, 3d Infantry Division in the Korean War. Anyone who can tell me anything about him as a person would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any information and in reverse for any service you have given to our country.
Anne
