Comments: I have been a military aviation historian / writer for the past 40+ years. This has led to my having numerous books and articles published. You can get online and go to either www.amazon.com or www.google.com and type in Warren Thompson where they ask for "search". Currently, I am writing a book on the F4U Corsair in the Korean war. I would like to hear from anyone that served in the squadron during that era..

Comments: VF 192 Golden Dragon, CAG 19, and USS Oriskany cloth patches, like the ones worn on G-1 USN/USMC flight jackets in fact in 1953 during the filming of The Bridges of Toko-ri are now available, but the price of $38.00 ea. is a bit much -- Flightsuits.com, I believe, has just brought the three patches out to the marketplace -- Happy Hunting.

Comments: I am trying to gather information about the air combat operations of USN squadrons in Korea. In case of VF-192 I am especially interested in any information on the several encounters between CVG-19/Princeton a/c and MiG’s 7 October 1952, as well as an encounter 20 August 1952. Any further info on any of these encounters, or others, first hand or not, would be helpful.

Comments: Hello. I am in the look for an insignia patch of the VF-192 Golden Dragos during the period 1950-1956. This would be the same patch seen worn by the pilots of the squadron in hte movie The Bridges at Toko-Ri. Can anyone guide me to the place where I can buy such a patch? I've been looking for this item since 1988.

Does anyone remember a pilot from VF-192 by the name of E. F. Paust, Jr? I believe he was a member in the '50s.
Thanks for any information concerning this gentleman.

Comments: For many years I was bitter about how we were treated after mission accomplished!I blanked it all out, occasionally saw one friend from my squadron and hometown , Bob Klouse lost him a few years back to heart failure. Now I'm taking pride in my service an actively recruiting and publicity work for KWVA Chapter 215 in Dallas Fort Worth area.
Good Health and long life to my shipmates!
