Dad passed away in March of 2000 and I am interested in learning a little bit about his time in the Navy. I know this was a particulary important and "lucrative" time for Dad in terms of his evolution and interpersonal growth. Any recollections will be highly appreciated and will receive a personal response. Thank you.

Where in the Western Pacific did this take place and why were these ships in that area? I would appreciate this information as a friend is trying to get proof that he was in waters which would make him eligible to join the Veterans of Foriegn Wars. There is no information on his DD214. I hope to hear from someone.
