My father's name was James Robert Morris Long and her served on this ship during the Korean War. He was in the Bikini Atoll Islands during the hydrogen bomb testing. He passed away in 1997 from a rare cancer called VIPoma or Carcinoid Syndrome. He used to enjoy getting together with his ship mates at the annual reunions.
I'm glad to see a website developed for the folks who served on that ship, if he were alive today that would have been a real kick for him to be able to log on and see what was going on.
