I just found this page and found it very interesting. I am
looking for any one who knew my father, Irvin M. "Chick" Slepicka.
He served on the USS Bairoko (CVE 115) from 1951 to 1953.
Aircraft assigned to it were primarily VMF 312. My father also served
on the Kearsarge, and was a plank owner of that ship. My uncle also
served on the Bairoko, Lyle Denniston.
Please E-mail met at COSDIV13@AOL.COM.
Thanks!

Hi, have just found your site. My name is Jerome T. Guerin and I served
on the USS Bairoko with squadron VS-25 along with VMF-312 in 1951. I
don't see any mention of my unit and was wondering if you could provide
me with any info on reunions upcoming. Any other info would also be
appreciated.
Thanks Jerry.

Hi:
I am Jack Seaman Atomic Vetran who was along for the ride at Operation
Castle while serving aboard the Bairoko CVE-115. The previous year I
was in the Marshall Islands aboard the Rendova CVE-114 for Operation
Ivy, necular tests leading up to Castle.
I'll keep watching this site for info on any old buddies off the Rendova
which I helped re-commission at Bremerton, or the Bairoko which I went
aboard September 1953.
