Comments: After my unit (8th Cav} took Pyungyang we moved up to Unsan and relieved the 1st Rok Div. I lost track of time, but I believe it to be Halloween night when the Chinese hit us. Later, when we had a formation to give us the CIB, we who survived noticed that only a few were present. This, without a doubt, was, and has been the worst experience of my life.

I was a machine gunner in H Co from Aug 1950 til Dec 1951. Would like to hear from anyone from H Co. It took about 6 days for about a dozen of us to get back to our lines.

I think a lot about the men who did not make it back. It is hard to explain and understand unless you were there.

For those of us who survived, these brave men will never be forgotten.

Comments: I'm looking for any information about my uncle PFC Herbert C. Johnson, 1st Cav Div, 8th Cav Reg INF. Herbert was killed on the night of 14 Feb 51 when his position was overrun. I don't know where. He received Silver Star for gallantry in combat.

Anything at all would be very helpful.

Comments: I would like anyone who may have been with Silas W. Wilson prior to his death to contact me with any information that they might have concerning the circumstances of his death.
He was my father's best friend, and he always wanted to know what happened to him but he died 11-98 never knowing anything more than he was missing, then presumed dead. He and his wife were friends of my parents. I would like to find out the circumstances of his death so that my mother will not go to her grave one day not knowing anymore than my father did.
His wife passed away a few years. ago, but he still has a son and daughter that might like to put some closure to his death. I would like to be able to take the information I get and give it to them also.
Please, if you have any information about him please send me an e-mail. My parents called him by his middle name and you may have known him by that name. His middle name was Wafrey....I believe I have the correct spelling on that.

Comments: I am interested in finding surviviors of the unit
that may have served with my uncle (Sgt Daniel
Sciannameo 8 Cav Rgt/1st Cav Div).

He was KIA 11/2/50 at Unsan. I guess the whole
unit was decimated, but I am told there were
survivors.

I see one posting on the site by a Tom Goss
who was apparently in that unit. I've sent him
messages but have had no response.

Please contact!
