Comments: I'm a reporter for The Express-Times in Easton, Pa., near Allentown. I'm doing a story on Korean War vet John J. Allen. During the push back up the Korean peninsula, at a place called Suuan, photographer Don Duquette took a picture of Mr. Allen. That picture appeared on the cover of Look magazine and has been used in many history books. Now, an organization is using the photo as a model for a Korean War memorial to be dedicated June 25. They want to find Mr. Allen, or his relatives, to invite them to the event. So far, no luck. If anyone knows where Mr. Allen is (He originally came from Allentown, Pa.), or if they know of a list, source, agency, or any other reference that might guide me to find him, please e-mail me at tonynauroth@hotmail.com.
Thank you,

In the October 18, 1999 Army Times, after 48 years, Korean Veterans to get Korean
Medal. It was authorized Aug. 20, 1999. The Army will work out the details on how
the veterans will go about getting these medals. The article says that they don't
know how the veterans will go about getting these medals, but it's about time. Hey
guys, did we not receive the Presidential Unit Citation with Oakleaf Cluster and the
President Sigmund Ree Presidential Unit Citation? Those two awards were not on
my retirement form. Hate to be lond winded guys but, it's been a long 49 years. The
veterans of the Vietman War, here in Lafayette, Louisiana, dedicated a Korean War
Memorial made of white marble and gave us pins that said, Welcome Home, Thanks.
What a wonderful tribute from one veteran to another veteran. From me, I want to
say Welcome Home and Thanks. It was a previlge to serve although I was a mere
grain of sand among many. SAgt. Le

Then from about November until around April 15th 1952 (or maybe a few weeks later), his address
