I am looking for information on my grandfathers company. He was SFC or Specialist 3rd Class Byron C. Woodard. I would like to know of the
engagements his company was in.
The story he told is his company was ambushed and only 2 came out alive. I was young when he told me this, and now he is no longer around to get the full story.
Please contact me if you know anything, this is very important to me.

Comments: Hi,
My father Frank Persampieri was in Korea in 1951 and 1952. He died when I was a young child so I really didn't get a chance to ask him about some
of the campaigns he fought in while he was in Korea. I noticed on his DD-214 that they have a box that states the most significant action saw.
They typed in 1812 Co "M" 35 INF. Regiment. I also see that he recieved the Korean Service medal w/2Bronze service stars and the combat infantry award badge per so 54 Hq 35th Inf Regt 16 May 1952. I was hoping if you
could tell me what type of battles he fought in. I do recall he said he fired motars.
Thanks for your help.
