Comments: My father served honorably during the Korean War, (from Feb. 51 to Jan 52. 35th Reg. of the 25th Infantry Div.) and saw some (not sure how much)action.

He recently passed away, but throughout his (and my) life, I can always remember him saying how the Korean War was the forgotten war. I remember many Memorial Day ceremonies, and reading many articles on these types of holidays that always took pains to remember WWII, and Vietnam, but Korea was always somehow missed.

I promised him, as I promise everyone on this website that I will do everything I can to educate and remind people of the sacrifices of all Korean War veterans.

My uncle John Ylinen was listed as MIA as of July 22, 1950 but wasn't listed as KIA until 1952. Does anyone know what action he might have participated in? It also started connecting him with associations tied to his service. Unfortunately he passed away on 8/19/2000. On behalf of his family I would like to thank all those who responded and ALL Korean veterans for their sacrifices. He was very proud of his service. And we are very proud of him. Lyle was wounded Nov.28 1950 and was killed in action on Feb.4.1951. From what I have been able to learn he was n.w. of Suwon when he died.

I am not sure what his job was but any information would be helpful.I am trying to make sure that his short life won`t be forgotten after I am gone.

If there is any one out there that can add to the folder that I am trying to do on Lyle your help would be a great gift to me and my son that is named after Lyle.

Anything that I put togeather will go to my son and that way the family will alwas have part of Lyles life to keep.
