He was on patrol when his group walked into an ambush. Every body returned save
except my uncle. The place where it happened was one week later in our hands and
searched but no body was found, so I presumed he was made POW. We never ever heard
something about him. This happened on the 18e july 1951 near Taeu-san Hill 1100

Is there somebody who heard or saw him since?
Please let me know.

PFC Norris Preston McCoy, 7th Cav Rgmt, 1st Cav Div was

manning machinegun, during Operation Commando. I am
seeking the morning report entries that depict his
hospitalization and later return to duty on/about 15 Oct
1951. PFC McCoy is reported to have defended his position
against a large attacking North Korean force, estimated to
be a Battalion plus; killing over 100 enemy and allowing
the 7th Cav the time to move into and occupy its defensive
positions prior to the enemy major attack. PFC McCoy has
never received a metal of valor for his lone heroic
action. I request the 7th Cav Rgmt, 1st Cav Div, morning
reports for each unit in the 7th Cav Rgmt, 1st Cav Div for

My Father Eugene F. Coyle served in Fox Company,21st Infantry
Regiment,2nd Bn,24th infantry division from March 1951 through end of
December 1951. In letters home at the time, he tells of being put in for
medals of valor and Purple Hearts. He never received anything and nothing
is on his DD214. He is 89 and in good health. He recently started sharing
details of his combat. He was drafted in 1950 and served on a BAR and
light .30. Machine gun. His Captain Enricho ordered Lt. ferguson to put him
and George Phillips in for the Silver Star when they charged a hill and the
Chinese bugged out. He referenced 2 bronze stars. It appears he should
have 3 Purple Heart Awards. Around July 4-6 1951 he was in a terrible
battle. In a letter dated June 17, he says he got another bronze star. So
action must have been around then. I'd like to find any morning reports that
reference his wounds and award submissions

I am researching this battle and aftermath for a book on this same subject. Very little has been shared on this subject which I feel was the true turning point in ending the war. With it being now past 60 yearns sine that date, so few veterans are left who know the truth about that battle. Those who were there know it was a tremendous, horrific, and important battle and anyone stationed along the No Name line witnessed a great deal, but usually very different from the things things another company to platoon saw. Comments: I am putting together a book on the Bucks County PA men who lost their lives in Korea. I would like to get information, of any kind, on PFC Harold Lewis Adams who was KIA on February 13, 1951. When completed, the book will be given free of charge to any interested person. I am doing this solely to remember these guys. I have already published a similar book on the Bucks County men who lost their lives in Vietnam.
