What I don't know for sure is , does this outfit belong to the 45th Div. Thunderbirds? I ask this because it is not stated on his DD-214. If anyone can tell me this I'd be very happy. Also is the 279th still around or is it disbanded. I cannot find anything on this outfit or a patch for it? Thanks to any and all for any info. Comments: I'm trying to find any information available about the 45th Division, 279th Regiment, 3rd Battalion, I Company. My father served in this unit between July '52 and July '53.
I would like to hear from anyone who can tell me anything regarding where they were and action this unit saw.
