Comments: I am trying to locate some info on my father's unit 278th INF Div from the National Guard that served in Korea between 1950- 1952. I was told that the 278th Infantry was reorganized and redesignated as an armored calvary regiment in 1977 which indicates that soldiers from the regiment were used as replacements for other units in Korea. If anyone has any information or know my father please send me the information. My father passed on in July 1991. Thanks.

Comments: I have several scrapbooks of pictures my father took in his time in Korea. His name was David Kite, he was in the 45th Division, 279th Infantry, Company K. He was a medic during his time in the Army and wounded on 12 April 1952. I am thinking about making an online album of these pictures. I will be donating them to the 45th Infantry Museum in Oklahoma City in the next year.

A veteran, Mr. Fall (I believe) responded with email. I had trouble on my end and his mail was lost. Please send another with phone as I would love to talk with you. Comments: Gentlemen:

My dad, R.C. Jarrett Jr., said he served in WWII and the Korean Conflict. He also went by "Pete."

He passed away recently, and I want to know if he ever served.

His sister had no recollection of my dad serving, but he always told me he did.

He said any evidence of his serving in Korea was probably burned up in a fire at the NARA facility in St. Louis.

While I've found some bits and pieces, an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army in 1946 from Fort Ord, I haven't found out anything about his service in Korea.

I am not even certain what unit he was in, but figure it was probably infantry, possibly a reserve unit.

Thank you.

Unfortunately I have no names to start with. I'm trying to piece together his combat history. He shared just a few stories about his time there - primarily about the camaraderie and basic living conditions, but not so much about the combat. He said he was in some of "the big ones", but no real details beyond that.

Comments: I am seeking to find anyone who may remember my father. His military records were distoryed in St.Louis. Like so many others. I have pictures that may recall memories. Was honored with 2 KSMw/bronze stars CIBAD 1 O/S Bar. I believe he was at the Battle of Christmas Tree Hill. He ran artillary, used heavy mortar guns.
He currently seeks help with disablities claims against Veterns Dept. For skin condition, hearing loss. If you remember him. Please contact me or my mother.

Comments: My father led a patrol (1st platoon) from Hill 200 to the top of Pork
Chop Hill. Not sure when, but he said the lows were in the 20s at the
time. The patrol left at 2100 hrs. There were 4 checkpoints on top of
PCH. A,B,C and D. Checkpoint A was the large bunker on the top. They
were hoping to grab some Chinese prisoners. No Chinese were found
on top. They came down the south side of PCH and once down they
were ambushed and they had some casulties.
Does anybody remember this.
