He was drafted in mid 1950 and sent to Camp Polk for initial training and then shipped out to Hokaido, Japan. While in Hokaido he trained at Camp Crawford and Camp Monty Strong prior to his unit shipping out to Korea. I do know his was in Japan Thanksgiving 1951. Following that date no more pictures or information was available. I belive the unit transferred to Korea and took up positions in the Old Baldy area. Any information would be helpful

I don't know much about my Daddy because he passed away when I was 11 and all I really know about his time in the army is the mention of "Pagan Raiders" and honestly he didn't talk to any of us about his time in the army. I have heard stories that he was found lying in bed with his gun on occasion and had a tough time dealing with it all when he came home but he was 44 when I was born and I only had 11 years with him. I am hoping that someone knows and remembers him and could help me learn more about my daddy. Thank you for any info you might have!

Keywords: My Dad was in the chosen resovoir battle, he was eighteen and a marine. I don't know anything about this except it changed his life. He died when I was twenty two, 1978. I never had a chance to talk about this part of his life. I know without talking to him I was very proud of him and his service to the military. He later served two years in Viet Nam. thanks in advance for any info on my dad.

Comments: My uncle David A. Leonard was killed in Korea 13 June 1952, one day before the end of his tour. I was hoping that anyone who served with him or knew him might share any recollections with me.
I was born 2 years after his death, and his loss was very difficult for my father and his family. They rarely spoke of him, but I know (from family archives) that he was deeply loved.
His parents and siblings are now all passed. I just want to know more about this man, his life, and perhaps the circumstances of his death.
Thank you in advance for your consideration!
