Comments: My grand father was a Medic, SFC Maynard Traxler in Korea, 179th, 45. . Looking to see if anyone on this board knows the name or has family that were medics. I have a few pictures, one of him getting the Bronze Star. He still lives in Michigan, not far from where he grew up.

Comments: Looking for any one who knew Kenith Friend [Deceased] During a fire fight on Outpos Harry, Kenith covered a granade with his body saving 3 of his comrades from death or serious injury. Although serious wounded he survived and spent almost 2 years in VA hospital.
A company History Deetective found about Kenith and is
working on him to get The Medal of Honor.
Any information will help
Yours in Comradship

Comments: Ray, I was there on Old Baldy on the early morning in
JUNE (not January as reported in the Project)
when you rolled down the steep hillside--hit by shrapnel from an enemy grenade. I know it must have hurt you very badly because you let out a long, sustained scream. It didn't hurt but a minute, though, and you were gone from that miserable place.
You couldn't know, but only two of us were NOT hit. You, unfortunately, were among the other 39. It says in the Project that your remains were not recovered--I don't understand that at all. Over the 58 years since your number came up, I have thought of you very often. You were my buddy then, and you still are! Bruce
