Comments: Overseas tour allowed us to share a type of comradery seldom seen while serving stateside.Once I got to Fort Carson that sense of close knit friendship was no longer evident.Sure we knew we had to serve with a certain sense of mental objectivity, but the human element was left overseas. All N all I wish I had not ETS in 1986.I would have had 27 years in today had I stayed. My training in Alpha 6-6 and Charlie 1-5 at Fort Dix ,still leaves a smile on my face.I even did some filed duty in Lajunta, while at Fort Carson.

Comments: My father passed away Dec. 1994. He always said he served with the finest soldiers during his two tours in the Korean War. I have compiled a service history from 1945-1969 and possess some MP photos from winter of 51-52, prior to his rejoining 72d Tank Battalion. He arrived with them from Ft. Lewis, WA and was wounded Sept. 21, 1950 near Kyongsan. I believe his US Constabulary service in Germany from 1946-1949 led to his assignment with the 728th MP Battalion. He was transferred to 72d Tank Battalion in March 1952 and stayed with them until Sept. 1952, when he went to Ft. Knox, KY as tank instructor. He had another tour 1966-1967 with 1st Battalion, 73d Armor at Camp Beavers, Korea- family lived in Germany with in-laws during this time. If anyone remembers him or that time please contact me anytime. Thank you for your service to keep our country free and great.

Comments: I was drafted in 72 and sent to Fort Polk for basic. After basic I was fortunate enough to be sent to Fort Gordon, Georgia for MP school. Both places were a real experience!
Upon finishing MP training I was sent to South Korea and assigned to Co A 728th MP Bn in ASCOM. What the new guys did not realize at the moment was that Co A was about to be moved to Taegu and ASCOM given to the ROKs. My first night at ASCOM I accompany a SSG to the scene of a "quick draw" accidental death involving two young GI's.
A month later I find myself moving to Camp Carroll to be part of a new security squad assigned to the 260th. Our job was to ride freight trains leaving Camp carroll Depot to mostly Pusan in the south. I rode a few trains but mostly did gate duty and line duty at Camp Carroll. The last few months of my tour I was a desk sergeant at the PMO. It was an amazing time!

Would lve to hear from James Green, Roger Johnson, Hawk Henderson, Mix, Chapla, Davis, Bratyansky, Sgt Kraus, Sgt. Samples, Weaver, Laher, Sgt. Fernandes, Jerald Irons, Arena, Daniel Dawyer and Newcomb, Powers Thorton, Navarro and the list goes on. ROKs: Charlie, Little Kim and Big Kim of C Company. There was a dude that I often wonder about Kalife I'm not sure that correct but he was a nam vet who I believe was a tunnel Rat stationed in A Co. Some of the best times of my life and most intense. Hope all are still with us and life has been good to all. I remain proud to have served with you all, PEACE.

We became very close and completely entrusting towards one another, something that will never happen again. Comments? I miss such friends and soldiers as we walked a very tight line of defense. God bless you all.

I have some black and white photo's of the U.S. Army Camp and surrounding area north toward Osan and Seoul, South Korea. I can forwad copies for those interested in any.
I am presently assigned as a California Supervising State Park Ranger/Peace Officer at South Carlsbad State Beach, in San Diego, California. I still work in law enforcement as my duties involve working as a State Park Peace Officer for the State of California.
I am nearing Retirement this Spring/2009 with over 31-years of Public Safety Service with State Parks as a Peace Officer and the Imperial Beach Fire Department as a Firefighter/E.M.T..
I would enjoy hearing from anyone out there assigned to Company 'B', 728th Military Police Bn. in South Korea. I'd be interested in corresponding by email and if you have any interest in visiting San Diego, California in the future.

I served in Korea 1993-55 with the 728th MP A company in YoundongPo.
Hated it from the first day I was there. However looking back at it,
....it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. So....I went
back in l983....30 days after flight 007 was shot down.
A truely remarkable change and the people were very friendly to
returning GI's. Would I recommend anyone having served go back..A big
yes. I may even do it again next year
Best regards
