Comments: Hi, my sister & I are hoping to connect with others that were stationed at the 8th Army Stockade in Nakano Japan. My father, Arlie Merrill was an MP stationed there. My sister & I know he was there in 1948 due to the dates on the back of some of the photos that were sent to him while he was there. We just don't know if he was there earlier than 1948 and later or if he was there 1948 and later. Anyway, we'd really like to hear from anyone that knew him or about him. Good friends with Nick Pascucci, Rocco Carzo, and James O'Connor.
Nick Pascucci came to see him in Stockton, CA after they were out of the service, some time around 1952.

Comments: I was originally assigned to the 7th Cav., First Cav
Division stationed in Tokyo, when the First Cav. was
downsized I was transferred to the 8th.Army Stockade
at Nakano-Ku and served as a prison guard both inside
and outside the stockade. I was attached to the
361st. Station Hospital in Tokyo for a while where we
also guarded japanese war crimes prisoners, some of
which were later executed at Sugama Prision. I
finished my tour at the 49th General Hospital in
Tokyo guarding prisioners. I also guarded former
Japanese General Umezo, the former Chief of Staff of
the Japanese Army. My tour ended in September 1949.
General Umezo was one the signers of the surrender
aboard the US Missouri. Later I ended up back in the
7th.Cav. in October 1950.

Comments: My name is Bill Nelms I was stationed in Japan from 1947 to 1951. I am looking for a Captain James Patterson when I was stationed in Japan. I am also looking for all other soldiers who may have been stationed with me as part of the occupation forces in and around the 8044th and the 8th Army stockade. I was working in the motor pool at this time. I am also looking for a soldier named "Davis" as well.
I welcome any persons who was there and I am looking for the other soldiers that went with Captain Patterson, Davis and myself that received a commendation for loading wounded soldiers underfire in the Pusan Perimeter. This was just before the First Cav broke out of the Pusan perimeter.

Comments: My dad was a Military Policeman in a US Military Stockade During the Korean Era but was not in Korea himself. He the stockage was located somewhere in Japan. Anyone else out there who served with my dad or was also stationed at the Stockade. I believe he was their during 1953.
