Comments: I was stationed out of Ft. Hamilton from 1973-1974. I remember Sgt's Walsh and Johnson. I was also detached to Ft. Tilden and Ft Hancock. I remember the two tankers that collided under the Verrazano Narrows Bridge. What a fire. Hope everyone is doing well, I'm enjoying retirement. Hello Bruce Silva if you are out there.

Comments: I was sent to the 563rd MP CO after returning stateside from
Vietnam for my final 7 months enlistment. It was really
different from being a riflman with a infantry Bg. and enjoyed
my stay on the Island at Ft Totton (barracks) at at provost
office at Ft Hamilton. perfooed routine patrols, reports,
especially out to the old arifield at night on Staten Island
spookey! lots of fond memorys. anyone do duty same time i did?

Service or Relationship: Army Veteran

Comments: I was assigned to the 563rd. from fall of 74' to my discharge in the summer of 77'. I cannot recall the date but it was during 76' that our company commander, Capt. Schmit told us that during the Korean war our company was awarded a unit commendation(it was a red ribbon with a gold band around it). While we were assigned to the company we all wore this ribbon. The Capt. did the research into the award.
