Comments: I am looking for ANYONE who has applied for AO VA Disability who served with the 55th MP Co. in S. Korea. I was there in 1968 and 1969. So many of my fellow service people have applied for benefits for their symptoms from exposure to this. I am most interested in whether or not anyone has ever gotten disability for this affliction. Many who served are no longer with us. I have appealed the VA decisions against approval but always the same. I have an attorney and have been waiting for a video conference from Washington, DC for almost 2 years. I have been fighting for over seven years. IF YOU HAVE OR KNOW SOMEONE WHO HAS GOTTEN DISABILITY PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I live in North Carolina that is notorious for not approving VA benefit claims. If we can show that anyone at the 55th or Camp Red Cloud has gotten it we feel that it would help my case.

Comments: Any one out there drawing VA disability benefits for exposure to Agent Orange which was sprayed at the DMZ. I was stationed at Camp Red Cloud which was close enough for exposure. I currently have illnesses which can be tied into this exposure. I have been trying for 2-1/2 years to obtain money due to my total disability. I received a 10% for hearing loss from being an MP. I have diabetes, peripheral vascular disease both legs, Polymyghia Rheumatica, Giant Cell Arteritis, COPD, congestive heart failure, and require oxygen 100% of the time.

Can anyone out there help me in doing a buddy statement? If you were there between 1966-1967 and draw benefits you can help me. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who can help me.

Comments: I served as a PFC Army July 1966 thru August 1967, 55th Military Policy Company in Uijongbu Korea. I am totally disabled and have applied for a VA Disability Service Related Pension due to being exposed to Agent Orange which was sprayed at the DMZ. The area VA Office informed me several years ago that my health conditions could be caused by exposure to the chemical spraying which was done. I need to know if there are any Vets out there who served during this timeframe and are drawing a VA Disability Pension due to service in Korea. I have been approved for a 10% disability for hearing loss due to being a Military Policeman but I have been turned down for my lung, heart, diabetes, and other issues. If I can show that other vets are being service-related disabled, I can appeal my case.

31B - Infantry Radio Repair - daily repairs - transitioned all jeeps to solid state radios
Many memories: Smells from rice paddies, Kin Chi buried for the winter, Kim Wha Pyong - houseboy, Westhoven, Veeck, Silver, Jack Daniels Monopoly, the village after midnite, Miss So, Annie, 31 North Korean commandos crossed the border to kill Pres Park Jan 17, '68, Pueblo stolen Jan 23, '68. -10 degrees, 24 hour full alert - parachute flares and M60s in top-less jeeps. Had some fun in Special Services as a member of the Red Cloud Revue, a band of sorts with very used instruments and a fair amount of talent. Performed once on AFKN TV in Seoul. ;-)

Comments: My father is Chester Murr. He served from 1954-56. He did his basic training at Camp Gordon, Georgia. Went on to Fort Jackson, South Carolina for Pole Line Training and Electronics Training. Then shipped to Fort Lewis Washington via USS James O'Hara to Tokyo, Japan and Camp Drake. Then onto Inchon, Japan and trucked to 51st Signal Battalion and final destination was 55 Military Police Company in Uijongbu in I Corp area. He has often spoken of his military days and wanting to get in touch with anyone from this time in his life. Names he remembers are Joe Reise, Augie Rutigliano, Capt. Howell, Lt. Cerrillo, Charles Harrell, Marvin Cheeseman, Dale Case, Albert Kelly and Harry Kotlakis. If anyone out there knows of anyone listed, please contact me.
