Comments: I don't understand the order of the army divisions, etc, so I am using the only info I have. We are looking for anyone who knew Raymond Crandall who fought on Pork Chop Hill and I believe was wounded at that time. Most of his records have been lost. Info from his brother is he was in the 7th cavalry, Indian
division. Raymond never spoke about his service and had mental health problems probably related to it. His children, (one is my husband) would love to know anything anyone can tell them about that time. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

The ribbons from my father's uniform shows he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star, among others. We can find no citations, and the records from the Army do not show these two awards. Dad's memory is clearly fading. He mentions about being severely wounded on Dagmar Hill in December, 1951, regained consciousness in a field hospital before being transferred to a hospital in Pusan, then Sasebo, Japan then on to Hickam Air Force Base. Dad says that his Purple Heart was pinned to his pillow case when he regained consciousness and that his unit received the Bronze Star and therefore everyone in the unit received it.
