He was started out in the war in the 7th Cavalry, and ended serving with the 8th Cavalry and was injured in the war on June 11, 1951. He was held as a POW/MIA, but not held in an actual camp, and is trying to prove this. His family also received a telegram that said that he was KIA. Since all of his military records were burned, he is trying to connect with anyone that would remember him. When he was taken POW in the area of Shie-by-ni (SP?) on July 28th 1951, and was held captive with several members of the 7th Cav.

My husband's friend, Medic, Freddie Wolf, served in the Korean War yielding him 100% disabled, and was declared as one of the most severely wounded soldiers to have lived. He died on Veteran's Day 2006. In his memory, our Pastor gave us a book that included an interview of our war hero and others: "BACK DOWN THE RIDGE," by W. L. White. Readers' Digest also has an article: "Back Down To The Ridge," February, 1953.
