Comments: I'm looking for anyone who can provide a list of names and served with my uncle Marvin Roy Hoffman. I have over 200 photos uncle Marvin took in Japan before he was killed near the beginning of the Korean War. I would love to identify some of the other people in his photos. The pictures depict military life before the start of the conflict. Some are in color.
Thank you in advance to anyone who can give me some of the names.

pretty face about the things that happened.
As you can see this is very important for me to find out
information on him. I looked up to him, so if anyone has any

importantly any pictures of him; I would greatly appreciate these
things being shared with me, so i can then give them to my dad.

Comments: My uncle Marvin Roy Hoffman from Chicago, IL died on 7/30/50 in Korea. information I
found online lists him as being a member of H CO 7 RGT 1 CAV DIV. I'm not military
myself, so I don't quite know how to read that. My best guess put me here, so this is
where I'm posting for starters. For what it's worth, records show him as a heavy
weapons infantryman.
My uncle, after whom I was named, was an avid photographer and took his camera with
him into the army. He took a great number of photographs in Japan and possibly Korea
(I can't really tell by looking at them, but at least one color slide had japan written on
it, and the architecture and natural landmarks in many of the pictures look Japanese to
me. Some writing on a sign in one photo looks Korean to me, so I'm guessing pics exist
from both locations.
Anyway, I've begun scanning the B and W negatives and color slides my late uncle left
behind, and will be posting them as I go on my Facebook page. The address for the
publicly-viewable album should be this:
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?
set=a.10200960010261703.1073741826.1209602846&type=3
If you, or anyone you know, can identify any of the people in these photos, I'd love it if
you'd tag them in Facebook or contact me via e-mail and let me know so I can tag them
or at least send scans of the images to the people in them (or their families).
I feel that it's a shame none of these photos ever saw the light of day (as far as I know)
and if even only one other person is touched by getting to see them, then I've done a
good thing for the men who fought alongside my uncle Marvin, who died before my
parents even met.
Thanks,
Mike Hoffman

Comments: My father was sent from Tokyo Japan to Korea in June or July 1950 and may have been with the 7th Calvary. His rank and name were Lt. Thomas F. Boltz. We know very little about where and what he did over there, only that he was also with a signal corp, and he did mention several times about tanks running over his radio lines. Dad passed away 17 years ago and his family would just like to put this missing piece of history in the family geneology record. Thank you for anything that anyone can send my way.

Comments: Hello,
My father, Richard Larson, served in F Co. 2nd Bat. of the 7th Cav Rgt of the 1st Cav Div. He arrived in Korea sometime in late August or early September 1950 and was in Korea until he was wounded in February 1951 near Komjon-Ni, South Korea. I have a few pictures of my Dad with a few other men from his outfit. I would love to hear from anyone that served in the same unit or who remember my Dad. Hope to hear from you.
