Comments: Just became acquainted with a relative. Our talk made me wonder what progress has been made in the search for this man.
I read recently about a base in Hawaii that does nothing but search for and identify MIAs.
This sounds as if it would be on the charts there; I know it has to be hard on the family.
I lost a great-uncle on Okinawa but he was brought home and buried in the family cemetery after the war. It comforted the family just to know he was home.

I am trying to find any information about Richard Todd who was listed as MIA on Feb. 15, 1951. His company was reinforcing the 23rd Infantry who was engaged in battle at Chipyong-ni. Trying to get an idea of location last scene.
I am with MIAHunters.com and I am investigating this case. Any information you can provide would be appreciated.
Thank you for your service to our country that I may enjoy the freedoms to which I have.

My interest in contacting verterans from A and HQ Company was regenerated when I was asked to submit to a series of interviews for a Korean War project.
How wonderful it would be to have a Morning Report from both comapnies.

Hi again LeRoy, I had been looking for your e-mail address all over until I ran across this piece you wrote. I hope the address is still good. More than that though, it seems the last time we communicated, your wife was quite ill. I sure hope the both of you are still well and happy. I have thought of you quite often and I was just talking with another trooper from Co "A" the other day and he was with us on Hill 312. He sent me a picture of himself and me in that time frame as well as himself and two other soldiers. One of them was black and I think he was the one that joined us after he had been rejected by 2 or 3 other units because he was black and finally ended up with us. I do not recall his name but I think he was KIA on Hill 312. You may be able to enlighten me a little more on that. Anyway the other Trooper's name is "Bill Triplett" and currently lives in "Broken Arrow, OK".
Looking forward to hearing from you. Dick Burton

I have been told this man is related to me thru my Grand Mother who was born in Hemphill (sp) Texas. According to this info, he was killed on 14 Sept 1950 and was a member of the 5th Cav of the 1st Cav. I do not see his name on your rolls.
Was his unit designation an error or was he just not on your records? I am looking at my family military history and am very interested in my Texas military Roots.
Do you look at WWI as well? Just curious.

He was stationed with the 1st Cav vic, 5th Regt, E Co. when he was wounded and sent home to the hospital in San Francisco. I was just a child in 6th grade, but remember it well. While I went to school in SF, he was in and out of the hospital for a year. I have tried in vain with the Army Review Board and turned down twice because of lack of what they call "evidence." Most of his records were destroyed in the records fire in St Louis. But I did have two documents from the War Department telling about his injuries and that my mother had been notified he was being sent to SF. I am now in search of those who may have known my father (Sgt. Avis William Burris) and about his injury and who would be willing to write a letter to that fact that I can present to the Army Review Board. Nothing would serve me with greater honor than place the Purple Heart on his grave. Any help you can give me would be appreciated.
Lance M. Burris (vet)
To Steve: You can contact a MSG Richard R. Gallmeyer at msg1gal@aol.com who may be able to help you. He has supplied me with names of some who did serve in his company during 1950-51 who, hopefully, remember my father.
