Hello I am trying to piece together my grandfather Gilbert's military history as I am also a service member.

I have a training certificate that was issued in may 1954
Course title LAA course 398th AAA AQ BN (SMBL) Centralized Training

given at 398th AAA AW BN (SMBL) Centralized Training APO 970

I also Know that he arrived at Ft. Bliss, Texas in Feb 1953

I know he went to KOREA but no records of when.

Hope anyone on this site and might have some info or pictures.

I greatly appreciate any contribution of information you have.

Comments: My dad, Russell Law would like to hear from anyone who served at camp Edwards during 1951-1952 in the the73rd 708 ATTY ( ready reserves( active status) who was inducted 1March 1951 and later transferred to USAR on 1March in 1952. He was in the anti aircraft unit there and shot 90 mm guns. the name on his discharge was 1st LT James Newton. He was discharged on 6 March 1957 according to his discharge.
I you think you may know him from that Time period-he is looking to hear from you. His phone number is 270-622-4592. I think he was master sgt (3 bars above and 2rockers below)
Dad is 86 and still going strong. He said in his whole life he is most proud of his service to this country. Do call him and touch base with him.

Comments: My uncle Louis J. Juliano was briefly stationed at
Camp Edwards base in Massachusetts during the Korean
War. He was a commissioned to the one of the 90MM
Anti-Aircraft unit, but was honorably discharged
after 6-8 months due to an eye problem.

Unfortunately, he does not recall the years and which
Company/Division/Battalion he served. I'm looking
for anyone that may remember him and can provide any
information about his military service. His military
records can not be located.

The patient is Thomas Cook and he says he served in Korea from I believe 1950-1953??. He says he was stationed in (Oson?) and protected a landing strip in the area. Comments: We were stationed on top of a hill overlooking the runway at K55. We were the 136th Communications Security Service, Detachment 6 and our gate over looked the Mig Disposal Area which as I remember was the 398th AAA. We also ate at their mess tent during the year I was at K55. I really didn't know anyone at 398th but noticed your web site and it reminded me of some good and bad times on that hill.
