I understand he was given a battlefield promotion to Sgt durig the battle and was one of the 15 survivors. My sister was married to him but he never talked about the battle.

Comments: LLOYD CABE WAS MY UNCLE WE ALL CAME FROM N.CAROLINA AND KNOXVILLE,TENNESSEE HE WAS MY MOTHER'S BROTHER I NEVER GOT TO MEET HIM BUT I ALWAYS WONDERED WHAT HE WAS LIKE BECAUSE OF THE WAY HE WAS RAISED. MY GRANDPA WAS VERY STRICK AND THEIR STEP MOM WAS EVEN WORST.MY GRANDPA WOULD PROMISE THEM THINGS AND NEVER FOLLOW THROUGH. UNCLE LLOYD'S REAL MOTHER DIED FROM A BRAIN HEMMORAGE AT A YOUNG AGE IN N.CAROLINA. MY MOTHER WAS THE TYPE PERSON WHERE SHE WAS EASY TO TALK TO AND HER BROTHERS WERE HER FRIEND'S ALSO AND THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF HER LIFE. SHE HAD TWO SISTER'S LOIS CABE BEENEY FROM N.CAROLINA. MILDRED CABE HUTCHINSON WHICH DIED WITH A BRAIN HEMMORIAGE AT AGE 17
i WAS WONDERING IF MY UNCLE WAS PROUD OF WHERE HE WAS FROM AND HIS DAD WHAT HE THOUGHT OF HIS SISTERS AND HIS BROTHERS. UNCLE LLOYD HAD ONE SON AND HE LIVES IN TENNESSEE. I WONDER IF SOME OF HIS SON'S TRATES ARE THOSE OF HIS FATHER. HE WAS HARDLEY AROUND HIS FATHER BUT I NO HE HAS TO HAVE SOME OF HIS TREATS. MY SON DIDN'T HARDLEY KNOW HIS FATHER BUT HE DOES ALLOT OF THING JUST LIKE HIS FATHER. OR DOES UNCLE LLOYD HAVE ALLOT OF TRATES FROM HIS FATHER. MY GRANDPA WAS SOMETHING ELSE HE SAID HE HAS NEVER OWNED ANYTHING HE WOULDN'T SELL OR BARGIN FOR. MY OLDER BROTHER WAS JUST LIKE HIM. SO THE TRATES GO FROM ONE TO ANOTHER. IF ANYONE KNOW'S HIM PLEASE WRITE BACK. IF YOU HAVE ANY PICTURE'S MAYBE YOU COULD SEND ME A COPY I WOULD GLADLY PAY FOR THEM. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME GWEN HINES FLOREA
