He was a PFC and was KIA in Korea we believe on November, 28, 1950. He was 18. We know he received the purple heart and that his name is on the Honolulu, Hawaii, National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific memorial . He was from Sevierville, Tennessee. None of the family members we can talk to know anything. We want him to be remembered so we are trying to find anything at all that will help. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Comments: Looking for anyone who served in 2/31 Inf in Korea in 1971. I was there when the unit was deactivated with 7th Inf Div in 1971. We were located in Camp Hovey. I was a 1LT at the time. Our unit had most of the Division athletes. At the time, our BN CDR was the Division football coach and many of the soldiers were football players. I was assigned to play baseball, but the division deactivated before baseball season. Many of the remaining soldiers formed a security detachment which pulled guard duty at Camp Hovey awaiting the arrival of 2nd Infantry Division which was relocating to Camp Casey and Camp Hovey.

Comments: I'm looking for any information about my 1/2 brothers service on the Korean War.
In my mind he was a true hero and almost never spoke to me about what he had been
through. He met and became a friend of the catoonist Bill Mauldin and was wounded
in Sept., 1951. He was a rifleman, radioman, sniper and scared as hell, rightfully
so. He was our fathers best friend and mine also for many years, passed away 5
years ago and it still hurts so badly.
I want to get any information anyone may have and/or any memories that anyone who
may have known him. Any and all will be deeply appreciated,
Thanx so very much!

Any stories regarding my dad during that time would be appreciated. He never spoke about it until he was dying. He said they lost a lot of good men in his division.
