Comments: My name is Arlie Fox and I've currently been wearing a P.O.W/M.I.A. bracelet in
remeberance of our brave men and women that gave their lives for our freedom. The
one I have been wearing for approximately 9 years is in remembrance of Capt. Fred
H. Garrison. I've never taken it off and don't plan on it until remains are found.
God Bless those who sacrificed the ultimate sacrifice!

Comments: My name is Erin Miller, and I am a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Last fall, I began volunteering at the Wisconsin Veterans Museum and conducting interviews with local Vietnam veterans.

While I was been researching this, I came across the 37 servicemen from Wisconsin who are, or were previously, listed as missing in action from the Vietnam War. I tried to follow up on the accounts of several of the soldiers, including Colonel Robert Wilke, but was not able to find out much beyond federal reports. Honoring our veterans and soldiers is something I feel very strongly about and I was hoping to be able to do this for the Vietnam War MIAs. I've been working on a small book about these servicemen, and putting together short biographies about their lives before and during their service. To do this, I have been reaching out to friends, families, and others who served with these men.

Colonel Robert Wilke was a member of the 602nd Fighter Commando Squadron on January 17, 1968, when his aircraft was lost during a search and rescue mission. He has since been listed as missing in action. Before this, though, Colonel Wilke served with the 370th Bomb Squadron at MacDill AFB, Florida, from June 1950 to March 1951, during which time he flew combat missions during the Korean War. I was wondering if anyone might have known Colonel Wilke and would be willing to speak with me about him. If so, I would greatly appreciate your help.

Comments: Looking for anyone who can give me information about my father who served as an armorer in the 370th Bomb Squadron, 307th Bomb Group. I've seen a picture of him playing softball on the 307bg website. (page 6 of photos scanned October 07).

He was known for his pitching and singing. He passed long ago and I'm very interested in the squadron's operating bases and history. Would love to hear from anyone who could give me information regarding my Dad, Corporal Joseph Wendell Hansen, or his unit.

His discharge papers indicated that he flew on 7 missions as gunner.

Comments: I happened to purchase a part of this plane that was shot down over Korea B-29 44-70151 and I am making art displays featuring parts and pictures. It was a part replaced in 1949 and sent back for repair. I have all the original AF tags and numbers. I would like to know if there are any living survivors? As I would be happy to give him/them one of the displays.
Anyone else that would like info or pics of part and tags please email me.

Comments: I was maintenance crew chief on 151 in 1951.

These details of the aircraft's last flight were told to meby the CFC gunner after we both returned to MacDill AFB, FL in 1952.

151 was targeted by MIG fighters because it was the lead bomber of it's group. A large hole was blown in the wing and the plane began descending to the sea. Two enlisted members of the crew refused to bail out (one waist gunner and the flight engineer MSGT. Hamblin). The waist gunner froze in his seat and the others in the rear could not get him to jump. They then jumped from the open hatch at the rear bomb bay doors. Sgt Hamblin had often told me and others that he would never be able to bail out of an aircraft. The pilot and co-pilot decided to attempt to ditch the aircraft in the ocean in order to possibly save the two enlisted men's lives. I found one entry that stated that Captain Shields was awarded the Silver Star but have often wondered if their sacrifice was ever documented properly.

I am sending an email with a picture of 151, taken as it began it's descent from formation, attached. I would welcome any additional information anyone might have.

The American museum at Duxbridge near Cambridge England has a B29 in their collection. That aircraft flew out of Kadena about the time I was there. I want to know if that aircraft was one that I crewed on. If these manifests identify the B29 to the crew who flew it, its possible to make a connection to the B29 at Duxbridge.

Comments: I am the son of a Koren Veteran assigned to the 307th BW/370th BS at Kadena. My father (Curtis Bedsole) was the crew chief on B-29/151 lost on the Namsi raid. The story he tells parallels that told by "Scott" in "B-29 Aircrew". I have a picture taken of the plane after it was hit behind the #3 engine. The picture shows the plane decending from formation with smoke trailing from the wing. It is black and white and of poor quality but is a precious to my father. I also have a picture (not sure of its location at present) of my father and the other crew chief standing in front of the nose of the plane. Behind them are the bombs painted on the fuselage representing the missions flown. I will be glad to scan the picture and send it to interested individuals (both pictures if I find the other one). Feel free to contact me if your interested.
