Comments: If you have even heard of Detachment 4 you may know me as a tail gunner B-29 while serving at Yokota AFB, Japan from March 1953 thru August 1953. My Aircraft Commander was Capt Metz, pilot was 1st Lt Rasmusson, Radar was 1st Lt Buchanon. Navigator was 1st Lt Snyder , Flight Engineer was Tech/Sgt Humphrey. Right Gunner was A1C M.J.Baccelli. Radio Man was Robert A. DaSilva. I received an early release (honorable) from Lake Charles AFB, LA in November 1953. The most significant duty assignment for myself and all others listed was Lake Charles AFB. Would be happy to hear from anyone who has any knowledge about this group.

Comments: Correction!!! Dad trained on the Southern Belle in Kansas. He was a gunner on the B-29 "Any Time". The Navigator was "Dutch" Adams. Tail gunner was Ronnie Graves. Capt. Duke was the pilot. Other names of the crew were Don Manuel and a man whose last name was Blaylock. Anyone who has pictures of the Southern Belle from Kansas or the Any Time from Japan, please e-mail me. I have some pics of the crew and a few of the planes.
