He was from Oklahoma and would have been in his -mid 30's during the war. I am trying to find out which units he might have served with during the war, as he died in 1958 and I don't have much to go on other than he was a B-26 pilot. I do have a photo of him taken in Korea, if anyone would like to see it.

At the time he was Capt. James W. (Jim) Pittaway having arrived as a replacement pilot, he flew missions until it was discovered up the chain that he had been in the fledgeling OSI and was abruptly pulled from flight status. Of all of the aircraft he flew in WWII, Korea, and subsequently, he has a particular fondness for the A-26, and the night missions he flew.
As his 90th birthday approaches, I am seeking any information possible on the A/C markings of 730 sqdrn to have applied to a model of the aircraft.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Comments: Murphy, the photo you posted online and labeled is one I have (8x10, nice shot). Now I can name the other men, and know they were all gunners.
My Dad's discharge papers are clearly readable (under "MOST SIGNIFICANT DUTY ASIGNMENT") 342nd Bomb Med, 97th Bomb Wing, Medium.
Military records for his award of the DFC in combat/crash landing incident with Savage (pilot) and Wolf (navigator) indicate 730th Sq (Light), 452nd Bomb Wing (Light).
My dad being in more than one Squadron (active duty from Aug 1950 thru Jan 1952), complicates my search and labeling men and planes in photos.
I doubt that I have all his records.

I have one excellent Air Force photograph of our squadron, probably taken in Oct 1951 that shows approximately 75 crewmen posed in front of a B-26. The clarity is good, I can easily identify individuals.

A Big Salute to all the fellows who organize the get together. Nice touch of having each attendee identify himself and his unit, rather than having entertainers sing us the old sentimental songs.
Was reunited with one of my gunners: Eddie Sterns and his two strapping BIG sons. Sat with Bob Rohlfing, my room mate at Miho and later at Misawa.
Shared the table with Bob Gossman, a 730th pilot
and paid trbute to my "regular" pilot, Harry Hoch who was my primary pilot on 80% of my missions. Brought along copies of photos taken of Mel Wolf's completing his 50 mission tour.
