Comments: My Father was General Thomas B. Hoxie and he was one of two pilots on this plane. I can testify that this loss of 7 personnel deeply grieved my father until the end of his life here on earth. May God be with all the members that were lost as well as surviving relatives. I knowg my father finally had peace when he entered the kingdom of our lord and savior, Jesus Christ. 🙏🏻❤️

Comments: I want to say hello to my old childhood friend Marvin, who's father was lost over
Korea back in the 50s. I was too young then to understand the tragedy that befell
his family. However, over the years I have thought about you and what you and your
family must have gone thru growing up without your father. It is only of late that
I finally found out the tragic circumstances of Maj Mavin James Spence. Like so
many of our lost military, your dad was a hero and will be remembered as such.
Best to the Spence family.

Comments: I recently came into possession of a B-4 AAF issue pilot suitcase. Inside the flaps the former owner stenciled his name, Paul R. Manning, unit, 325th Bomb Sqd, and location, Fairchild AFB. The suitcase is a pre-USAF issue and is olive drab in color.

I feel I can't keep this bag in good conscience and would like to re-unite it with Mr. Manning or, if he has passed, to a descendent of his.

Please contact me if anyone knows Manning's whereabouts.

Thank you.

Comments: I'm looking for anyone who may have known my grandfather James(Jim) Griggs. He would have been a tech sergeant at the time. Not sure what squadron he was in but I know he was part of the 92nd at Yokota. There's a few things I remember him telling me but as I was young and he didn't tell me alot of things because of that I'd like to talk to anyone he may have flown with. He passed in 98' at the age of 81. He was in the Air Force from 41' to 64' retiring as a Lt.Col. If anyone who knew him or any crew members would please contact me, it'd sure mean alot. Thanks.

Comments: My first cousin, Julian Curtis Meadows (Dit) was AC of B-29 822 (last 3 digits) when it was shot down over the Sea Of Japan in 1951 or 1952.
He was a WW-2 veteran, flying B-17s over Europe.
He was one of many ACs that refused to fly during the Korean War. He said he promised God as he was descending under his parachute, "If you let me survive this I'll never get into another airplane. God let me live and I'll keep my promise.". Is there anyone who remembers "Dit"?

Comments: I am an illustrtator currently researching B-29s
that saw action in the Korean War. I have to
produce colour side views of 40 airplanes
from all the various units to be published in a
book.

If you had an association with a particular
plane I may be able to include it in the book if I
have enough information. I would need photos
showing the markings, nose art (if applied)
and serial number. Any additional information
about the plane, crew or combat missions
could be included as an artwork caption.

At this time I am particularly interested in
finding planes that were assigned to both the
92nd and 307th Bomb groups; but information
relating to the other groups would also be
gratefully received.

Photos can be E-mailed to me as
attachments, or mailed to my address or an
alternative US address if required. I can also
E-mail examples of my illustrations to anybody
kind enough to respond to this request.

Thanks,

Mark
