Comments: My brother, Claude Batty was lost over Korea 30 Nov 1950 piloting a B-26. My son has written a book about Claude and his brother Jack Batty and their military career. Wingtip to Wingtip: A Lifetime in the United States Air Force
Here is the remarkable yet true story of two brothers who joined the Army Air Corps during World War Two, remaining together throughout flight training and subsequent overseas duty. Inseparable, Junior and Jack Batty shared a passion for adventure and flight.
Wingtip to Wingtip chronicles their early lives and decision to join the Army, following them through their flight training, occupation duty, service during the Korean and Cold Wars, and beyond.
Referencing and quoting directly from over 1,000 letters written during their years of service, one will come to know the Batty brothers on a deep, personal level and experience the human side of military service as well as the tragedy of war.

Comments: Greetings. My father was Col. John F. McCormick (Ret.), and I became interested in his military career very shortly before his passing.

I attended three of the 731st reunions, two in Laughlin, and met some wonderful people. I had the privilege of videotaping some of the veterans who fought in the very beginning of the Korean War, and I would like to talk to more of you.

I would be interested in talking with anyone who would like to share his or her experiences during the early part of the deployment. I am putting the finishing touches on a script with a working title of "The Pilot's Son" which will pay tribute to the squadron, as well as tell a story about a son and a father reconnecting over military history. If any of you would like to go on camera, or share your stories via email, please don't hesitate to contact me at psalms4us@gmail.com.

Very best regards, TJ McCormick

Comments: A couple of times in the past I must have been sleepy
when making entries, because I got my sqdn. numbers transposed. It should be 731st,but I put 371st. This has caused one person to write me seeking info but I was not the contact he needed. Sorry about that!

I was one of the regulars moved in to fill up empty slots when the 731st was activated. I was a radar tech, and reached the outfit at George about the end of Aug.,'50. Stayed with it until about the end of Sept.,'51. At that time I had about used up my involuntary year of extension and was shipped out from K-8 to the States for dis-charge.
